CVVCC
About Us
The Club’s home base is Woodstock Hall, Newbridge Road, Woodstock-on-Loddon about 25 km west of Bendigo, where many events start and finish.
Races are also held at Newbridge, Emu Creek, Maryborough, Inglewood, Castlemaine, Harcourt, Bagshot and other locations around central Victoria, providing a variety of challenging and interesting courses.
The Club welcomes all standards of riders: males and females over 30, experienced and novice, fit and hoping to get fit. Most races are handicap events run over distances of between 30 and 70 kilometres which gives every rider a chance of winning.
Some races are scratch events and criteriums and racing is held on most Saturday afternoons. There is no racing in January and during daylight savings in December, February and March races are scheduled on Sunday mornings to avoid the worst of the heat. A very successful summer series is held on Wednesday evenings at Huntly sale yards during daylight savings months.
The Central Victorian Veteran’s Cycling Club aims to provide safe and enjoyable bike racing for all veteran riders in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The races listed in the fixture provide a good mix of courses and distances. Many of our events are sponsored, so please support the firms who support us.

Club Origins
Background
The Central Victorian Cycling Club was founded in April 1994 and incorporated in June 1994. The club is affiliated with Veteran’s Cycling Victoria (the State Body) and the national body, the Australian Veteran Cycling Council Inc.
Fourteen people attended the inaugural meeting on the 9th April 1994. This meeting set the standard for the club as we know it today. Currently (2023) the Club has in excess of 80 members from Bendigo and surrounding areas.
The purposes of the association are:
- To conduct and encourage cycling for masters cyclists under the rules of racing of the Peak Body and meeting the
minimum age limits as defined by the Peak Body and its successors. - To conduct cycle racing competition for all registered members in an orderly, fair, harmonious and social atmosphere.
- To assist with the promotion of cycling in general in Central Victoria

Volunteering is a fantastic way to get involved in a sport or industry that you are passionate about, in a role that has the main purpose of benefitting someone else – in this case, you will be protecting the safety of competitors (as well as officials, staff and other volunteers).
Here is a list and description of the various volunteer roles we need at every race:
Registration: 2-3 people to set riders up for the race.
Corner Marshalls: Standing on corners around the course to direct riders and let them know when it is safe to turn.
Finish Line: recording the riders in order as they cross the finish line
